Only a stones throw away, set in this picturesque, tranquil location is Tonge Mill. The Mill dates back to 450AD when the Saxons Hengist and Horsa joined forces. Hengist settled at Tonge and became the first king of Kent.

The Mill has seen 300 years of flour milling. More recently a country park has been created and the mill pond is now a focal point for tourism.
